This Dell PowerEdge R740xdV barebones server is a 2U, 14th-generation rackmount platform with a 24x2.5-inch front drive bay layout for SAS/SATA storage. It provides the chassis foundation for configuring an R740xdV around the required backplane, PERC or HBA controller, internal storage cabling, drive carriers, PCIe risers, power supplies, and cooling hardware. Final configuration depends on the selected processors, memory population, riser layout, storage controller and backplane combination, and any rear or internal storage hardware installed in the chassis.
