Our ITAD Process
Whether you’re migrating your onsite hardware to the cloud or it’s time for standard upgrades and refreshes, you may have IT equipment you don’t need anymore. At STI, we offer turnkey ITAD services to ensure you get the maximum value for your old technology.
1. Assessment and valuation
One of our Dell-certified experts will work with you either remotely or on-site to assess your hardware and goals. As one of the world’s premier resellers of recertified hardware, we can offer maximum recovery value for your surplus or retired IT assets. Most ITAD providers adhere to a revenue-sharing or consignment model–but we will buy your equipment outright and pay you upfront. We’ll provide you with a fair quote and create a disposal plan that fits your needs and meets your timeline.
2. Equipment removal
We will coordinate the removal of all hardware at a time that’s convenient for you. Our services can include de-installation by our certified technicians, consolidation of all assets, and handling the logistics of packaging and shipping from your facility to our secure warehouse.
3. Audit and inventory
Once the equipment has arrived at our secure Overland Park location, we’ll use industry-compliant software to conduct a thorough inventory and make sure all pieces are accounted for. We’ll send you a detailed report with what we have and what will happen to each piece of equipment.
4. Data sanitization and destruction
We can either wipe your hard drives, providing you certificates of erasure by device and serial number, or destroy them by physically shredding them at our NAID AAA-certified facility. Our facility is monitored, with a secure chain of custody, and we provide auditable and verifiable assurance that all data was sanitized or destroyed in compliance with published standards. Once the hard drives are destroyed, we adhere to a zero-landfill policy and all scrap metal is sent to a secure recycling facility.
5. Setup of new equipment
Looking to replace or upgrade your old IT infrastructure? We’ll give you a fair value for your servers or storage arrays, and are also happy to provide new, used, or refurbished Dell hardware to replace them. The market value of your old equipment will go toward the price of any hardware you purchase through STI.
