Maximize the capacity of your Dell PowerVault ME5 storage environment with the PowerVault ME512 expansion enclosure. The ME512 is a compact 2U expansion chassis providing 12 x 3.5-inch drive bays and connecting to supported ME5 base arrays over a 12Gb SAS expansion interface. Designed for capacity-oriented deployments, the ME512 provides an efficient way to add high-capacity storage to PowerVault ME5212 or ME5224 arrays without adding another independent storage system.

Up to nine 2U expansion enclosures can be attached to a supported 2U ME5 base array. The broader ME5 platform supports SAS and NL-SAS media, including high-capacity 3.5-inch NLSAS drives, while the enclosure uses Dell's 12Gb SAS backend for capacity expansion. The ME512 measures 2U high and 23.74 inches deep, with a maximum configured weight of 62 pounds.
