This Intel VROC Standard upgrade key is a hardware license module for systems that support Intel Virtual RAID on CPU. Installed on the system board’s VROC key header, it enables the Standard VROC feature tier for NVMe RAID configurations using Intel VMD-capable processor PCIe lanes. Compatibility depends on the motherboard having the correct VROC key connector, BIOS support for Intel VMD/VROC, NVMe drives cabled or slotted through VMD-enabled lanes, and the required RAID feature set being covered by the Standard key tier.
