This Dell R740 Riser 3 blank is a mechanical filler assembly for the PowerEdge R740 chassis when the Riser 3 expansion position is not populated. It installs in the Riser 3 area to occupy the open riser bay and maintain the intended chassis layout and internal airflow; it does not provide PCIe expansion slots and should be used only in R740 layouts that require a Riser 3 blank instead of a Riser 3 card assembly.
