This Dell U.2 NVMe SSD backplane kit is the drive-bay backplane hardware for Precision T5820 and T7820 tower workstations configured with 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe solid-state drives. It provides the backplane interface between the U.2 drive bay and the workstation’s NVMe storage cabling, with compatibility dependent on the chassis bay layout, drive carrier and bay assembly, required cable set, and PCIe/NVMe storage controller configuration rather than SATA or SAS-only storage hardware.
