This Dell PowerEdge R730xd is a 2U 13th-generation rack server configuration built around a high-density small-form-factor storage layout, with 24 front 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drive bays plus two rear 2.5-inch bays. The chassis also provides three PCIe expansion slots for add-in storage controllers, network adapters, or other supported expansion cards, depending on the installed risers and card profile requirements.

Final configuration depends on the selected processors, memory population, drive type, PERC or HBA controller, backplane and cabling arrangement, power supplies, and rail or bezel options. The 24x2.5 front-bay and 2x2.5 rear-bay layout should be configured with the appropriate SAS/SATA storage hardware and internal controller cabling for the intended R730xd configuration.
