This Dell SAS module is a 6Gb SAS enclosure management module for PowerVault MD1200 and MD1220 direct-attached storage enclosures. It provides the enclosure-side SAS interface used to link the disk shelf to a supported host RAID controller or SAS HBA, while supporting enclosure management functions for the MD12 series chassis. Compatibility depends on the MD1200 or MD1220 enclosure, EMM bay population, SAS cabling layout, controller or HBA support, and the intended single- or dual-module storage configuration.
