The used Dell servers we have are listed below. If you are unsure about which server is right for you, here are some ideas:
1U Servers such as the Dell PowerEdge 1950 and PowerEdge 1850 are designed for maximum computing power in a small package. They're easily stackable, and pair well with any of our refurbished EMC storage racks for those who need significant amounts of storage. Potential uses include: web hosting, caching and load balancing, front-end to a database servers, and video streaming.
2U Servers such as the Dell PowerEdge R710 and PowerEdge 2950 strike a balance between a high amount of computing power and a small rack footprint. They function well as an enterprise-level application servers, and are flexible enough to fulfill many roles.
For the highest amount of computing power & storage in a single unit, pick a 4U-7U server such as our Dell PowerEdge R900 or PowerEdge 6950. Loaded with RAM and the latest quad- and six-core processors, these outstanding machines are ideal platforms for highly virtualized environments or RISC servers.
Desktop & tower servers are great for small offices. They're convenient because they don't require expensive and bulky racks to mount the servers, and fit easily in computer desks and under tables.
Dell Blade servers are designed for datacenter use, and take up less space and use less power than standard 1U servers. You are able to mix most half height and full height Dell blades in any combination in the M1000e blade enclosure. Both the Dell PowerEdge 1955 and PowerEdge M600 make the ideal blade server for those looking to buy blades.
